Maui Down Syndrome Ohana

In honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we wanted to highlight a local resource for families and caregivers of keiki with Down syndrome.

Imua Family Services’ Speech Language Pathologist, Beth Jones MS, CCC-SLP facilitates a monthly group which often meets in different settings. Beth explains “Our get-togethers are typically very casual and provide the children an opportunity to socialize and the parents to get to know one another and share information.” If you are a family on Maui who has a child with Down syndrome and are interested in joining the Maui Down Syndrome Ohana, please feel free to contact Beth Jones MS, CCC-SLP at 244-7467, ext 250 or by email at

We are coming for a month in May amd wondering if there might be an oppurtuntity for our daughter Nadia, who has down syndrome, to be involved in your program?
We are from Fernie, BC in Canada and there is no private speech therapist in our area as well as her speech therapy at school is only once a week for an hour. This is not enough. Nadia is 6 and her speech is delayed. We thought we would take this oppurtunity to find some options for her.
    Thank you
