Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world – Nelson Mandela
Our Imua Preschool is an inclusion preschool aligning it’s theory with The National Association for the Education of Young Children. Research shows that more varied and differentiated types of instruction used in inclusive classrooms have been found to benefit learners of all abilities.
The goal of inclusion is to help all children between the ages of 3 and 5 learn to the best of their abilities. Inclusion means teaching all children together, regardless of ability level. Inclusive programs celebrate children’s similarities as well as their different abilities and cultures. In the classrooms, children with special needs take part in the general education curriculum based on their age and development.
Our Inclusion Team plans ways to adapt the curriculum and the classroom so all children can learn as independently as possible. Imua Preschool staff have excellent communication skills and are flexible and creative about meeting all children’s needs.
Unexpected social emotional gains for both children with and without disabilities (Buysse, Goldman & Skinner, 2002; Peck, Carlson & Helmstetter, 1992)
Imua Preschool takes a team approach to a child’s learning journey. Our preschool professionals work closely with parents and families to create Individualized Education Programs (IEP.)
