Paddle Imua 2014 raises $23,935.00 for Camp Imua!!

This year 159 participants, 24 sponsors and dozens of volunteers lent their kokua to make #PaddleImua the most successful yet. Sandbox Talk: Imua reacts to Legislation H.B. 1700 Passing

Imua responds to the recently PASSED H.B. 1700 Legislation in this week’s Sandbox Talk interview. “H.B. 1700 Relating to the State Budget – PASSED The state budget passed by the Legislature includes $3,000,000 for prekindergarten programs in fiscal year 2015. These funds will provide for public preschools on DOE elementary school campuses this coming 2014-2015 school year. For fiscal year 2015, there is a total of $9,000,000 in new monies for early learning ($6,000,000 was appropriated last session for FY15 for DHS’ Preschool Open Doors program). Imua Family Services is pleased to announce it attracted over 350 supporters and contributors who together at the Hyatt Regency Maui  raised over $55,000 in pledges, $15,000 more than budgeted. The Agency Gala marks Imua Family Services’ annual fundraiser, a kickoff to Week of the Young Child and Autism Awareness Month. Proceeds from this evening directly benefit IFS’ Early Intervention Programs. The fundraiser garnered representation and recognition from the County’s Mayor, Alan Arakawa, the State’s Governor Neil Abercrombie and Senator Brian Schatz. Each acknowledged the…
