Announcing New Infant Child Development Program Director

Wailuku, MAUI January 30, 2013 – Imua Family Services is pleased to announce Bobbie-Jo Moniz-Tadeo as the new Program Director for Infant Child Development Program at Imua Family Services.

Since 2002, Bobbie-Jo has been employed as the Maui District Part B Section 619 Coordinator/IDEA Resource Teacher for the State of Hawaii Department of Education. Originally a Maui High School graduate Bobbie-Jo went on to complete an Intensive Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes Program in San Luis Obispo, CA, an A.A. Degree in Liberal Arts and B.A. Degree in Human Relations in Organizations at UofH Maui College, followed by a Master Degree in Special Education at UofH at Manoa. In addition Bobbie-Jo studied Auditory Perceptual/Conceptual Development and Symbol Imagery of Phonemic Awareness at University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, Literacy/Language Arts at University of Nevada, Reno,  NV and currently holds her Doctorate Degree in Instructional Leadership/Curriculum and Instruction from Argosy University, Honolulu, HI. Bobbie-Jo is licensed in Special Education (K-12).

Bobbie-Jo began her career to help others. In this regard she chose the education profession. In this field she has been able to help people acquire skills that will be relevant throughout their lives. As an educator she believes that providing a sound education base will better prepare children for their future. At Imua Bobbie-Jo will continue to work and lead other professionals, serve as a liaison with other agencies, provide training and support serving as a subject matter expert.

Executive Director, Dean Wong adds, “We are thrilled to bring aboard the canoe which is Imua Family Services, Bobbie-Jo we know that she will make an incredible contribution to our already highly skilled and experienced team of professionals and help us reach our goals as an agency committed to the development of children and families here on Maui and Lanai.

Leaving the position of Program Director at Imua Family Services is Christi Masters. Christi who has worked for Imua for the past eight years has been offered a teaching position as the Clinical Assistant Professor at Purdue University. It speaks volumes of the skill level and expertise that Imua Family Services provides at no charge to families on Maui and Lanai in the area of children’s development, special needs and or disabilities. “We wish Christi much success as she follows her dreams” said Dean Wong.
